Run To The Rose 2012 – Nominations Feature Pierro

August 27th, 2012

Pierro and All Too Hard are set to go head to head once again in the Group 3 Run To The Rose this Saturday September 1, 2012.

The three-year-olds last met in the Group 1 Sires’ Produce Stakes at Randwick Racecourse in April, when Pierro claimed victory.

A total of nine horses have been nominated for the race, which will be worth a total of $125,000 in prize money.

Pierro is likely to begin favourite for the 2012 Run To The Rose due to his unbeaten winning streak.

The Lonhro colt has won all six of his race starts and has earned close to $3 million in prize money during his short career.

TAB’s Glenn Munsie believes that Pierro is the deserved betting favourite for the 2012 Run To The Rose.

“All things being equal with the weather and barriers, Pierro will be a slight favourite over All Too Hard with us,” Munsie said.

“All Too Hard should have the fitness edge on his side given he will be second up but it is hard to fault Pierro.

“Every time he has gone to the races he has stepped up to the mark and everyone involved in the colt will want to make sure he remains unbeaten.”

All Too Hard, who is the half-brother of superstar Black Caviar, has won three of his five race starts and has earned more than $430,000 in prize money.

The Casino Prince colt placed third in the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse behind Snitzerland and Driefontein.

Amorino, Epaulette and Ashokan are also included in the 2012 Run To The Rose nominations.
